Outfit three's top is also now finished. I found the sleeves incredible difficult with this piece as the fabric just really didn't want to work with me. I think as it was so stretchy, the machine I was embroidering on was just eating it up into the bobbin area even if I only did two stitches so resorted to putting fusing onto the back. Ideally I'd not have done that as I wanted the sleeved to flow more freely but it doesn't look bad at all and at least it means the embroidered words are slightly more visible!
I also went to Trago to get some buttons for all my pieces that needed them but couldn't find exactly what I was after. I wanted something metallic as the copper/rose gold was a very small part of my colour story to just wanted it to feature in very small details. The only metallic buttons they had there or in other shops in town were pretty tacky looking and not what I wanted. I decided to pick up some black round ones with leaf detailing (perfect match for my research!) and have a go at spray painting them as I had copper spray at home. Fortunately it gave the exact look I was hoping for - metallic but not tacky, antique but not shabby.
