Paper pattern all made up, cut out of fabric (the same soft, wool type as the cape) and the general coat has been put together. After putting it back on the stand, I pinned into place a few darts that are needed as well as pinning the front together where there will be buttons just to see how it looks. I'm quite happy so far, I think the adjustments will help a lot but similarly to the cape, I think my fabric choice wasn't the best for this so am planning on either using similar final material and adding fusing, or just finding something a little sturdier. But then again, the embroidery will stiffen it up. Oh I don't know, I have too much in my head at the moment!
I also thought I'd put the first outfit together all on a stand and see how it looks, and I'm actually pretty pleased. I know it's in need of an iron and some of the sewing could be a little better, blah blah blah, but in terms of shape and the proportions, I'm a happy bunny! (And yes, I still haven't got round to cuttnig and sewing up the bottom of the cape, I have a memory like a goldfish).
