REALLLY?!? If you send out a sample of one colour, it would be much appreciated if you then sent the correct colour.

I'd really struggled to find the exact green velvet that I wanted online or in any fabric shop so as soon as I came across this one (pictured left) from Tia Knight Fabrics I was over the moon. I sent for a sample as well as a few others and when it came it was perfection. It was the exact colour, stretch, weight and all the other things I wanted so got onto ordering a load of it for my jumpsuit (it had to be a hell of a lot because of the embelishment on the bottom of the flares using the same fabric). So I order a flipping load of it and it arrives not long after and is a horrific christmas dinosour green colour (pictured right) as two tutors very accurately described.

Naturally these things have to happen when you have a dealine looming as well as a long weekend the next day meaning that even if I ordered the second I opened the package, it would still only arrive a few days before my deadline. Whyyyyyyyyy. I went to a lady in textiles who specialises in print so knew about dying fabrics as I thought an option would be to dye the whole lot darker. She said that as there was so much of it, it ran the risk of having batches in mismatched colours as well as taking a very long time to dry. I then went to Peter who did a few colour tests for me and managed after a few tries to get it the exact right colour, so I ended up paying an extra £40 for a fabric I thought would be perfect (did I also mention it was only £2.50 per meter before?!) for Peter to print a darker colour on top. Ignoring the price and hasstle of it, this was the best option as it meant I had the colour I needed that same day as asking around and could get started.

Arrrrrrgh!
