Right, onto the next. Outfit one dress is done, hurrah! The cape coat is next now. I already made the pattern piece the other day for the cape so made up that next. For that piece, and will be the same for the actual coat bit, I used a soft, wool type material. I know I should know, but I'm not sure on the exact name or the fabric, but it's similar to what I'm hoping to use for my final piece so will be fine.
I put the cape together yesterday and like I said before, other than a few darts it was pretty idiot proof. The only thing is that it was longer than I hoped, but that's easy enough to sort out. For now I have pinned it to where I want it to be, but after I finish writing this, I'll go and sort that out on the machine.
Other than that, the addition of a zip and possibly fusing when I make the final thing, it shouldn't change. I Imagine it would stiffen up anyway when it's made properly as the embridery on the fabric would make it a little more solid.
